Paisley Lions

Crests/lions.jpg

Paisley Lions were a motorcycle speedway team that competed in the British National League during 1975 and 1976.
This was the second level of British Speedway

They held their home meetings at St Mirren's Love Street ground.

The club's colours were red and gold with a Rampant Lion.

The first
meeting was held on the 5th April 1975 in front of a crowd of over six thousand people when they beat Birmingham by 41-37.

The team did not enjoy a great deal of success and, despite a brave effort by their supporters at the end of the 1976 season, the final meeting was held on 25 September 1976 when the Lions beat Boston 52-25.
