Internationalists

During their short history, Abercorn had six players capped at international level for Scotland.
Quite remarkably four of the players scored for their country.

Only one man, Neil Munro, had two caps. But he still managed to score in both games!

In total there were seven caps awarded to Abbies players resulting in five goals being scored. A quite amazing record!

On two occasions the Abbies had two players in the Scotland team.
Against Wales on the 10th March 1888, both James Johnston and Neil Munro were in the line up, Munro scoring in a 5-1 win in Edinburgh.
There were also two Abbies in the line up when the Scots faced Ireland in Belfast on the 26th January 1884. William Fulton and John Goudie both played their part in a 5-0 victory, Goudie scoring the third goal.

There were also three Abercorn players capped by the Scottish League side. Back in the early days of the game, League Internationals were a close second to full internationals in prestige terms.
